A LITTLE AFRICAN PRINT-CESS.

I never thought there would be any common ground between three totally different women such as Michelle Obama, Blake Lively (I always want to type Blake Lovely, I love her so much!!!), and Rihanna when it came to fashion, but they all share a dirty little fashion secret called SUNO.

It's been everywhere from the local African boutiques downtown, The runways around the world, to American Apparel. It even trickled it's way into Forever 21, and a few bargain basements. One trend that couldn't be ignored this year is the "African Print" trend. Some refer to it as "Tribal Print", and that's fine, but in an attempt to remain as vague as possible about something I'm not too familiar with, I like my own name. Out of every piece I've seen I have to admit that SUNO does it the best. Probably because the brand formed in 2008 is the workings of a former screen writer, or it may be due to the fact that the line features pieces made from Kenya and well as New York. It merges the two beautifully and creates magic. I love how every piece is bold and features colors that can dress up something simple and make it extravagant. The skirts and coats are my favorite, because they're totally wearable by me. Below are a few looks from the 2010 fall collection.

My favorite shoe of them all, I think blue will be my signature color this fall.

And to my surprise, my favorite piece of the collection worn by Jessica Szohr on the cover of this month's Nylon magazine. I guess they see the potential I do.

11 ALBUMS YOU FORGOT YOU LOVE.

Because I'm almost eternally musically nostalgic, I've made a list for 11 albums you forgot you loved so we can all remember the good ol times together. Why 11? Because 10 is too cliche and 15 is just lame. It's in no particular order.

Kanye West - Late Registration.

Why you love it: Because it's perfect. It's the best Kanye West album if you ask me. The production is perfect, lyrically he was more mature and comfortable than he was on his previous effort. The features were insane, and with songs like Addiction, Roses, Diamonds from Sierra Leone, Crack Music, Drive Slow, and We Major.. need I go on?

Why you forgot you love it: Because The College Dropout was the classic, the first. It's always remembered. Graduation is the bet album, the album that sparked the 50 cent more sales publicity stunt and got them both of almost every magazine cover known to man. Late Registration is just in the middle. It's just there.. forgotten unjustly.

Santana - Shaman

Why you love it: Because it's amazing? Anyone that didn't love the lead single "The Game of Love" with Michelle Branch didn't have a pulse. Not to mention the rest of the a-list collaborations combined with Santana's way with the guitar.

Why you forgot you love it: Because it doesn't have auto-tune, and none of the artist on this album are manufactured industry products. Basically because it isn't commercial gold.

Ja Rule - Pain Is Love

Why you love it: Cause every thug needs a lady!! Okay, maybe that's why I love it, but Ja Rule made music that guys liked and girls loved. It was appealing but not commercial and everything he touched turned to gold. Or platinum. This album was full of nice songs for everyone.

Why you forgot you love it: We all know the answer to that, so I won't say it. Two quarters anyone?

Michelle Branch - The Spirit Room.

Why you love it: Michelle Branch was the pretty girl that wasn't really pretty because she played a guitar and made music with substance without showing her midrift. That's why we ate up whatever she was selling.

Why you forgot you love it: Because she forgot she loved music and took several breaks before leaving the genre that made her famous.

Brandy - Never Say Never

Why you love it: Because it's one of the few albums from an R&B artist that's geniune R&B.

Why you forgot you love it: Due to recent bathroom singing antics, a television show, and that whole murder fiasco people forgot that Brandy is one of the pioneers for R&B. She did Beyonce before Beyonce.

Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway

Why you love it: Because everyone counted Kelly out after her first album. She was just the girl from American Idol that could sing but had no control over her career or what she was singing. When she released Breakway she brought us into her own world, give her own image, and released her own material. And it was nothing short of amazing.

Why you forgot you love it: Because she released two sub par albums afterward, because gaining a bunch of weight and basically fading into obscurity. Or as I like to call it.. "The birth of Katy Perry"

Nas - It Was Written

Why you love it: Because it has one of the best songs in Hip Hop on it? I gave you power, for the slow people. As if that's not enough a Mobb Deep feature on a title I refuse to say and a ton of lyrical gems.

Why you forgot you love it: When your first album is a classic it's hard to outdo yourself on your second. This album was forgotten because people kept looking for an album to be better than Illmatic, and when they didn't find it, they forgot it.

Donell Jones - Where I Wanna Be.

Why you love it: Just looking at this album I hear a crowd of women screaming "OOOH GIRL THATS MY SONG!" to whichever song plays from this album. It was soulful and beautiful. Rugged, but soft. It was what R&B was supposed to be.

Why you forgot you love it: His material after this wasn't as good. It was horrible actually, and eventually his flame fizzled. Or a bunch of shirtless R&B men threw water on it. Whatever.

Justin Timberlake - Justified

Why you love it: Like I Love You? Take It From Here? Senorita? He had the world in the palm of his hands with N*Sync and decided to go out on his own to team up with the hottest producers in the world and give us a ton of amazing pop-hop tracks. He danced his little southern way into our hearts with Pharell on one side and the Clipse on the other.

Why you forgot you love it: When he brought sexyback nothing else mattered, and the fact that he's now known as the boy who needs to make a new record as opposed to the boy who made two amazing albums.

Nelly - Country Grammar

Why you love it: Because we all love nursery rhymes, and band-aids. Shut up, you know you loved this album for whatever reason. It was fun and Nelly was cute. It isn't the best lyrically by a LONG SHOT. It's actually terrible, but it made everyone do that stupid down down baby dance and scream andale andale mami E.I. E.I! SHUT UP.

Why you forgot you love it: Because we're ashamed we loved it so much. We WANT to forget it.

Tamia - A Nu Day

Why you love it: It's Rhythm and Blues. This album is more of a book than a record. It's a tale of a woman that comes to an epiphany through her own vocals. It's a mature and sexy album that nobody expected to love. It was the underdog, and everyone loves the underdog.

Why you forgot you love it: Because the year this album was released is the year of the bubblegum. Can you honestly say you remember anything other than Britney, Christina, and the rest of those TRL kids in the year 2000? I know I can't.

POETRY IN MOTION.

"She faced death with absolute self control and dignity, and stepped gracefully even with hands tied to the scaffold." - Kirsten Dunst

The story of Marie Antoinette is something that's had my attention since I choose to write my submission essay to high school on her. I had no idea who she was, but my mother suggested I write about her because I loved reading about women of the past. I became so interested in her ever since and she still remains someone I respect and admire to this day. As fearless and courageous as she was pre problems, she remained post. The quote below is one of my favorites ever. Some say she was a fool for thinking with her heart solely, and cites that as the reason for her decapitation, but I believe if there's anything worth dying for shouldn't it be love? I wrote a poem in honor of her because I think every woman that believe in true love has a little Marie Antoinette in them. Below is a Kirsten Dunst gettin' her Marie on, and said poem.

In this day in age, it's not common for a girl like me to meet a guy like you and lose her head..
What life brings before me, I stand and face with pride.
The wounds I bear, from war with love, I never think to hide.
The pain endured, makes me feel strong, I wear my marks with stride.
The love I lost, from battles fought, now glides inside my mind.
The thunder from the storms that form, grows larger every minute.
The rain now starts, but I don't run, I choose to stand right in it.
It soaks me, but I don't get wet because I don't believe it.
My head stays high, I remain dry, your love shields me from demons.
I know the rain will never stop until I'm taken under.
I choose to drown on my terms, let no man put asunder.
I close my eyes to count the seconds 'til I get to see you.
It all ends now, I stop and smile we win against the evil.

"Courage! I have shown it for years; think you I shall lose it at the moment when my sufferings are to end?" - Marie Antoinette

Jessica Simpson Fall 2010 Lookbook.

Here's a look at Jessica Simpson's 2010 Fall Lookbook.

I really love this set, with the exception of the top that's paired with the vest.

This set is decent. I don't really dislike anything other than the denim corset type shirt. It just looks cheap and low in quality.

What I love most about what Jessica Simpson does is that she knows she's very retail friendly at the moment, and that she has a brand that's familiar to with her demographic. Meaning she doesn't have to create things to catch the eye or that seem new and unique because women are now looking for her line. She's making that clothing that we want, but at a price we can afford. So what if she follows the trends that are set by other designers. Her strong suit is her shoe line in my opinion and I feel like she knows that. I know I have my eye on a few things! Do you?

PUSS..... IN BOOTS.

If I had to sum my weekend up with one word, it would probably be "pussy", hence the title of the post. When it comes to friends asking me what they should wear or help them pick stuff out I'm pretty risky, but if I ask them I make sure they know what my do's and don'ts are. I never wear my hair up because I love hiding behind it. I can and will only wear heels because I'm 5'1 and I need to feel tall. Makeup will be at a minimum because I think it makes me look like a little kid playing dress-up, and most importantly either a nude lip or a red lip. As I was getting dressed I felt like a pussy, because I can persuade my friends to dress how I want them to, but when it comes to me I believe in my silly rules, so I broke my rules. I decided I was going to cut my hair, wear it up, put on a little makeup, put on a pair of boots that I bought, and try a different lip color and to my surprise I loved it. I loved that I was still able to express my own individual style, but with a different flare. Then I began to add really girly pieces with really bold and edgy things, and when I was done I created an entirely different wardrobe for myself. I always believed in hits and misses, but now I have a whole new concept. So bye bye to the pussy, and welcome the ...whatever I don't have a cool word I just wanted to use the p-word again, because I hate the other usage of it. And as always heres the final product of my going against myself for myself.

I actually have on something other than eyeliner, and look! I have ears!

Look mom, no heels! I even went easy on the bling.

My intentions are not to be some bad ass super styled dresser, but to be myself and express myself through a lot of pictures in hopes that I can somehow figure out some new stuff and learn from other people who do the same thing I do. I'm proud of myself for doing this, no matter how small it may seem to reader. Who knows, maybe this will inspire someone to try something they thought they would suck at. All I know is I'm definitely taking up a few makeup lessons, and getting more into hair and cosmetics, but don't worry... I'll never be like the normal girls.
